AI assistants and agents are finally capable of real work and day-to-day tasks, with new solutions enabling agentic credit card payments for humans. But until today, there was no solution that kept credentials out of an agent’s context, preventing theft and unauthorized actions, while moving with users from agent to agent. That’s why Self Labs is launching Agent Vault, a payment and login layer for AI agents to sign in and complete purchases on a human’s behalf without ever seeing or storing their information.
Users can connect Agent Vault with some of the most commonly used solutions including Muse, OpenClaw, Hermes, Grok Bot, Claude and Codex, to power a complete payments flow that doesn’t put their credentials at risk. Users hold their credentials in one secure, private place, and can use the solution across agents. Many people already use multiple AI assistants, and as the space evolves, will likely keep exploring new solutions. Agent Vault is built with this in mind, switching agents doesn’t require setting everything up again. Agent Vault offers three tiers that scale with users and their agents’ purchasing needs: Free, Plus, and Enterprise.
The product is designed to work across all internet commerce platforms that serve users today. During Agent Vault’s private beta, users successfully logged in and/or completed purchases across hundreds of online stores for repeat subscriptions and one-time purchases, including Booking.com, Instacart, Roblox, Figma, Dropbox, Asana, Amtrak, Reddit, Apple, eBay, Etsy, Grammarly, Bitwarden, Canva, Macy’s and many more. There is no setup required for the merchant, adding additional platforms to Agent Vault’s ecosystem is fast and available upon request right through the website.
Self Labs has brought privacy-first identity to the agentic web, trusted today by over 20 million users. As a leader in private identity credential sharing, Self’s team of experts recognized the risks of current agentic payment offerings and their responsibility to take action before users lost more funds, data, or the industry shifted to a walled garden it could not return from.
Agent Vault builds on Self’s expertise preserving user credentials, keeping users’ payment information out of the agent entirely, so the agent holds nothing worth stealing. When an agent checks out, it fills in the form with mock tokens, placeholders that carry no value of their own and only work inside an authorized session. The real card number is only revealed within a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE), which completes the payment, so the store sees an ordinary card transaction. Logins work the same way, with real usernames and passwords swapped in by Self’s proxy at the moment of sign-in, out of the agent’s view. Users keep the controls throughout, setting spending caps by day, week, month and transaction, limiting the card to named merchants, and revoking it at any time.
“Our initial thesis on identity and agentic infrastructure has proven true; Self verifies over 20 million real humans and the need for proof-of-human is far greater than even last year when we launched,” said Rene Reinsberg, CEO and Co-Founder, Self Labs. “The next phase of the internet is agents browsing, purchasing, and interacting on behalf of their owners. As companies race to capture the agentic commerce market, we believe the agentic web should stay open and people should stay in control of their own information. Agent Vault is built to make that possible.”
Agent Vault is available today, offering free Agent Vault Plus for three months to the first 1,000 sign-ups: agentvault.io
